Creating a New Shop/Landing Page

In this article we explain how to build a net new Shop in FERMÀT

Updated over 3 months ago

You have the freedom to create as many shops/landing pages as you wish with FERMÀT, your plan is not capped on creation. Go crazy, think big, and use shops to build experiments that just aren't possible within the constraints of your commerce platform.

Where to create a new Shop

Navigate to the Shops section of the sidebar menu. Once there click Create New Shop in the upper right section of the screen.

This button will prompt you to either build a shop from a template or to build one from scratch. Below we will be going through building a new shop via a template, but you can also learn more about all the modules here if you want to build from scratch.

🔥 Pro Tip: Give the shop a name that describes its future contents and purpose to make it easier to search for later. You can also "tag" it later.

Select a Shop template type

After giving your new shop a name you will be asked to pick a template type. We will describe each of the templates below, but not after choosing one you can still fully customize anything you want.

Video

Our most popular template. This shop has a hero video that includes a shoppable product card that usually highlights the product that appears in the video.

When to use:

This template is effective when the ad that directs traffic to it is using the same video content that is present in the shop. It allows a shopper to feel like they seamlessly moved from the social platform to a shoppable video of the ad they just experienced.

Be sure to highlight the product on the video product card that is most prominently featured in the video.

For video dimension best practices check out this article. Also, be sure to check these examples for inspiration:

This template includes:

  • Video and product card

  • Shop title and header

  • Banner

  • Product grid

5 Reasons Why

Another very popular template. An advertorial combines long-form written content with shoppable components and CTAs. This allows you to showcase multiple value propositions, or to go deep into one unique selling angle with a ton of supporting points.

When to use:

This template is particularly effective for supplement and beauty brands. It allows you to go deep into what makes your product unique in a way that feels like an educational piece of content rather than an ad.

You can use this type of landing experience as a catch-all for any ads that focus on value props you highlight in the advertorial, but it's most effective when you create an experience that is specific to the value prop of the ad like these example funnels:

This template includes:

  • Hero Header

  • Multiple text blocks

  • PDP Buttons

  • Shopable product cards

  • Reviews

Grid

Sometimes you just want to keep it simple. This is also a great template to start with if you want to build something super custom since it will just get you started with a grid to build off of.

When to use:

A grid shop can give you a quick way to merchandise products that aren't grouped in existing collections on your Shopify site. Think of it as the fastest way to build a collection page that you can send an ad to.

Use these landing page types when you want to direct an ad that is talking about a sale of a specific group of products or when an ad needs to reference a specific grouping of products.

You can even make sure that the hero product in the ad is the first product they see in the grid layout.

This template includes:

  • Avatar Header

  • Banner

  • Product Grid

Enhanced PDP

Wish you could make some adjustments to what your current PDPs say for a particular ad. Now you can! Our Enhanced PDP template allows you to highlight a specific product and take full control over how it is talked about and merchandised.

You won't need to get the all-clear to make on-site changes anymore. Just build what you need in FERMÀT.

When to use:

This template works best when you are promoting a single product but the existing PDP either has too much context or not enough for where the link is coming from.

As an example, you might have recently been featured in a major publication and you want to match the PDP to how the publication described your product. You aren't going to change the onsite PDP but you could easily create a version of the PDP in FERMÀT that hits on all those exact same points from the content.

This template includes:

  • Avatar Header

  • Banner

  • Product Grid

Meet the Brand

This template is great when you want merchandise products alongside your brand values and ideals. What makes you unique, why should a customer care? You can now blend those brand values with relevant products with ease.

When to use:

A meet the brand lander works well when you pair it with an ad that focuses more on brand building and brand awareness. This is because it allows you to expand on the reasons a customer should choose your brand, while also showcasing some of your top products.

This template includes:

  • Avatar Header

  • Banner

  • Product Grid

Create a Shop from a Favorite

You can also start a shop build from one of your favorited shops. When you star/favorite a shop in the shop list view that shop is now available to be cloned from the "Favorite Shops" tab.

Simply click on one of the shops you already love and start building with all of the existing content as the base.

Add additional modules

To add new modules to your shop just click the add module button to be presented with a list of available modules.

We are constantly adding new modules based on customer feedback and based on what we discover in our CRO Laboratory, a team dedicated to optimizing performance for our brands and then productizing the results.

💭 For a full list of what each shop module does, check out shop module summary.

Add custom discounting

With FERMÀT you can apply discounts to products within a shop by connecting a Shopify discount code. This code can be used independently in FERMÀT so that you can experiment with different pricing options than you normally do on your site.

Use the Order Discounts setting to apply a discount code.

Once the code is added to FERMÀT and exists in Shopify the discount will be shown and automatically applied at checkout. You can see in the example above how the discount will shown on products.

You can also change this discount to show raw dollars off rather than a percentage using the Pricing Discounts and Display setting.

Set a free shipping threshold

Each Shop you create can have its own unique free shipping threshold. You can set this up by navigating to the Free Shipping setting.

Make sure you have configured the code in Shopify with the same threshold you are going to be displaying in FERMÀT.

Additional customizations

There are other customizations at your disposal when setting up a new Shop that you can learn more about here.

You also can make customizations to the products that you choose to include in the shop as well. You can learn more about PDP customizations here.
