If you're using one of our base templates to create a shop, here are a few of our top tips to make sure its as high performing as possible.
Video Shops
You may be asking, how do I choose a backdrop for video shops based on which ad creatives I'm testing with? Generally the purchase journeys we see drive the best conversions are either:
Static ads that drive consumers to UGC, or a branded social proof video as the backdrop of a video shop
A UGC video ad that drives consumers to the same UGC video OR a produced testimonial mashup / informational video about the product as the backdrop of a video shop
We strongly recommend you avoid using a singular creator's UGC creative that directs to a video shop featuring a different person. This creates a broken customer journey experience.
Video Specifics
Video Size: 9x16. Ensure your background is a high-quality video.
Length of Video: No more than 30-45 seconds
Captions or Voice Over: Both is best
Sound: Music or voice overlays are encouraged. If doing a voice overlay, include captions and/or text overlays.
Captions: If text is included, ensure it’s at the center of the screen - to avoid it getting obfuscated by headers & product cards on the shop. You can use this guide as a reference.

Grid Shops
Here are a few tips to merchandise your grid shops effectively.
Product Catalog: Choose 4-6 products to include in the shop that best match products featured in your ad creative. Ensure that the first product you select (the Hero product) is the primary product from the ad creative.
Shop Headers & Titles: If you’re offering a discount, use the Shop Title to highlight the offer (i.e. “Get 15% off of our best sellers”). Or, use messaging to catch the consumer’s interest (i.e. “The IT Girl sunscreen of the summer”).
Discounts:Add a Shopify promo code to your shop. At minimum, your offer for first-time customers should match the offer on your website.
