A Product Description Page (PDP) is one of the most important conversion drivers in your funnel — it’s where shoppers evaluate your offer, compare benefits, explore variants, and ultimately decide to purchase.
With FERMÀT, you gain complete control over every element of your PDP, allowing you to perfectly match the messaging, visuals, and promises made in your ads and landing pages.

This section covers every module and setting inside the PDP editor so you can fully control layout, content, design, and product merchandising.


1) Named Sections

Named Sections help organize long-form product content in a clean, scannable format.

Types of Named Sections

  • Horizontal Named Sections — scrollable tabs or sections usually placed mid-page.

  • Accordion Named Sections — collapsible sections ideal for long or detailed content.

When to use each

  • Use Accordions for ingredients, FAQs, specifications, objections, product care, warranty, etc.

  • Use Horizontal Sections for brand story, benefits, clinical results, or additional lifestyle content.

How to add Named Section Module

  1. Open the PDP → go to Layout

  2. Click Add Module

  3. Select Named Section Accordions or Horizontal Named Sections

How to add/update text in Named Section

  1. Open the PDP → go to Settings

  2. Click Named Sections

  3. Select Named Section Accordions or Horizontal Named Sections

  4. Add your content and reorder sections as desired


2) Text

Use the Text module to add written content such as brand messaging, long-form descriptions, value props, or disclaimers.

What you can do

  • Use headings, bold, italics, bullet points

  • Insert images

  • Add links

  • Rewrite text using the AI editor for clearer or more persuasive copy

Best uses

  • Lifestyle storytelling

  • Product science/benefits

  • “Why customers love it” explanations

  • Safety or regulatory notes


3) Highlighting Key Features, Value Propositions & Social Proof

FERMÀT provides multiple visual modules to help you call attention to benefits, guarantees, ingredients, shipping perks, and more.

Tools you can use

Chips

Quick, pill-style highlights like:

  • “Free Shipping”

  • “Eco-Friendly”

  • “Cruelty-Free”

  • “Made in USA”

Icon Group

Use icons to give visual emphasis such as:

  • Vegan

  • Hypoallergenic

  • Dermatologist Approved

Badges

Highlight product status:

  • Best Seller

  • New Arrival

  • Limited Edition

  • Exclusive

  • Custom badge

4) Adding Images & Videos

Use the Media module to add:

  • Product images

  • Infographics

  • GIFs

  • Videos

  • Press mentions

  • Before/after visuals

How to add media

  1. Go to Layout → Add Module → Media

  2. Upload or embed media

  3. Drag the module to reorder placement on the PDP

Adding visuals increases engagement and reduces return anxiety.


5) Customizing Reviews for Your PDP

FERMÀT allows you to manually select which reviews appear on your PDP so you can highlight the most impactful ones.

Where to manage reviews

Products → Select Product → Settings → Reviews

What you can customize

  • Star Rating (0–5)

  • Review Count (total number displayed)

  • Individual Reviews (text, reviewer name, rating, image URL)

You can also:

  • Add new reviews

  • Reorder reviews

  • Delete outdated or irrelevant reviews

High-intent PDPs typically perform best with:

  • 10–12 curated reviews

  • A mix of short + long reviews

  • At least a few image-based reviews

6) Improving PDP Aesthetics: Images, Swatches, Variant Selectors & Cart Line Banner

Variant Selectors

Choose how customers select options:

  • Default

  • Quantity

  • Color Swatch

  • Dropdown

You can:

  • Add HEX colors

  • Upload custom swatch images

  • Group swatches into categories (e.g., Neutrals, Best Sellers)

Where to manage Variant Selectors

Products → Select Product → Settings → Variant Selectors

Variant Image Mapping

Map specific images to each variant:
Settings → Variant Image Mapping

Useful for apparel, cosmetics, décor, or any product with visual differences.

Variant Settings

You can:

  • Disable variants

  • Set default variant

  • Add internal notes

  • Adjust naming

Cart Line Banner

Anything you write here will appear beneath this product’s line item in the cart.

Use it for:

  • Shipping reminders

  • Urgency messaging

  • Guarantee messages

  • Upsell nudges

Example (3–4 lines allowed):
“Ships in 1–2 business days. Free returns for 30 days. Limited stock remaining — checkout now to secure your preferred color.”


7) Configuring Subscriptions

You can customize the subscription experience directly inside FERMÀT.

From your PDP

Under Settings → Purchase Options, you can control:

Selling Plans

Turn subscription frequencies ON/OFF per variant.

Styles

  • Badge text

  • Badge color

  • Active selection color

  • Show/hide delivery schedule

  • Edit subscription label

  • Show Compare At Price

  • Choose layout: Compact / Expanded

  • Set which option appears first

  • Set default purchase option

  • Add Selling Points

These selling points appear directly under the subscription selector and are great for highlighting:

  • Savings

  • Free shipping

  • Easy cancellation

  • Member-only perks

8) Creating Virtual Products & Clone Products

Virtual Products let you create additional PDP versions of the same Shopify product for:

  • Different funnels

  • Different audiences

  • Different merchandising

  • A/B testing

  • Seasonal campaigns

You can:

  • Create clone PDPs

  • Edit each individually

  • Delete clone products anytime

This DOES NOT affect your Shopify product — only the FERMÀT experience.


Optimizing Your PDPs

1) Match the PDP to the Ad + Landing Page

For maximum relevance:

  • Mirror language from the ad

  • Repeat the same promise/value prop

  • Use similar visuals to ensure continuity

  • Address the same pain point the ad mentioned

Consistency increases trust and reduces bounce rate.


2) Write High-Impact Copy

Use the Text module + AI assistant to:

  • Simplify complex descriptions

  • Highlight benefits before features

  • Add bullet points for readability

  • Improve storytelling tone

  • Create persona-specific messaging


3) Use Banners to Drive Key Messages

Banner module is ideal for:

  • Limited-time offers

  • Free shipping thresholds

  • Seasonal sales

  • Product guarantees

Place banners either:

  • Above the fold (conversion-focused)

  • Mid-page (education-focused)


4) Strengthen Social Proof

Ways to add trust:

  • 10–12 curated reviews

  • Mix of short + long reviews

  • Include reviews with images

  • Include credibility markers like “Verified Buyer”

You may also:

  • Add social icons

  • Add press logos via Media module

  • Use Chips for quick trust badges


5) Use Media to Reduce Buyer Anxiety

Best performing media includes:

  • Video testimonials

  • How-to-use clips

  • Texture / close-up images

  • UGC shots

  • Before/after photos

Place them:

  • Right under the purchase box

  • Before reviews


6) Create Urgency (Ethically)

Use:

  • Badges (“Limited Edition”, “New Arrival”)

  • Cart Line Banner (“Ships in 1–2 days”, “Selling fast”)

  • Chips (“Fast Shipping”)

  • Countdown-style messaging (manual)


7) Use Upsells for AOV Growth

Under Settings → Product Upsell, you can recommend:

  • Related products

  • Bestseller add-ons

  • Matching combos

  • Higher-value alternatives

Upsells appear when the shopper adds an item to their cart.


PDP Checklist

Before marking a PDP as “Ready for use,” ensure:

✔ High-quality hero image
✔ Clear benefits above the fold
✔ Subscription settings correct
✔ Variant images mapped correctly
✔ Reviews curated intentionally
✔ Media added (video preferred)
