Why Create Clone Products?
Ads perform best when they speak directly to a specific persona, message, or value proposition. Clone Products allow you to match your PDP to the language, visuals, and positioning used in each funnel.
You can customize descriptions, highlight specific value props, change images, update reviews, and tailor the PDP layout—all without affecting your main site or Shopify product.
How Do Clone Products Work?
Clone Products are FERMÀT-only versions of a Shopify product that you can merchandise differently for each funnel.
Instead of creating a new Shopify product, you duplicate an existing one inside FERMÀT.
Fulfillment, inventory, pricing, and checkout still connect back to the original Shopify product (the Key Product).
Only the PDP presentation changes.
This means you can adjust layout, images, product sections, reviews, visibility settings, and more—without changing anything in Shopify.
How to Create a Clone Product
Navigate to the Products tab in the left navigation.
You’ll see your full catalog including all Shopify products and existing clones.Hover over the product you want to clone.
A Clone button appears in the upper-right corner of the product card.Click Clone.
A new product will appear named Product Name (clone).Open the cloned product.
The PDP layout and settings will match the original product exactly.Customize the PDP.
Update images, sections, product visibility, reviews, layout, cart settings, upsells, and more.Customize the cloned product’s settings.
Go to Settings > Edit Virtual Product to manage the clone name, included products, and option-level settings.
All customizations apply only to the clone—your main Shopify product remains unchanged.
Deleting a Clone Product
To remove a clone product from your catalog:
Open the cloned product you want to delete.
Go to the Settings tab on the right side.
Select Edit Virtual Product and scroll down.
Click Delete Virtual Product.
Confirm deletion and refresh the page.
Note:
Only cloned products can be deleted from inside FERMÀT.
Products synced from Shopify must be deleted directly in Shopify.
