Module Visibility Controls give you the ability to show or hide any individual module in your funnel based on the device your shopper is using — mobile, desktop, or both.
Previously, if you wanted to deliver a different experience on mobile vs. desktop, your options were limited: optimize for one device and compromise on the other, build and manage two separate funnels, or rely on device-based routing that removed your ability to run a simultaneous FERMÀT vs. site split test.
Now you can manage it all from a single funnel — no duplication, no workarounds.
How to Set Module Visibility
Open your funnel in the editor — Navigate to any funnel in the FERMÀT platform and open the funnel editor.
Select a module — Click on any module in your funnel layout. This works for all module types across landers, PDPs, and BDPs.
Find the visibility toggle — In the module settings panel, you'll see a new Visibility toggle with three options: Mobile & Desktop (default), Mobile only, or Desktop only.
Check your layout in the editor — Hidden modules show a clear placeholder so nothing disappears silently.
Preview and publish — Use the mobile/desktop preview toggle to confirm your layout before publishing.
Where It Works
Module Visibility Controls are available across all surfaces in FERMÀT: Landers, PDPs, BDPs, Slug pages, Product funnels, Shop previews, and Template previews.
Use Cases
Optimize content for the screen it's on — Show a vertical, scroll-friendly UGC video on mobile while displaying a wider, text-rich comparison module on desktop — all within one funnel.
Improve mobile CVR without breaking desktop — Hide modules that clutter the mobile experience without removing them from your desktop layout.
Leverage email traffic that skews desktop — Brands sending FERMÀT funnels via email campaigns — where desktop open rates can be as high as 75% — can now fully optimize the desktop experience without compromising mobile.
Simplify funnel management — Keep one funnel with device-optimized modules instead of maintaining two separate funnels. This also preserves your ability to run a FERMÀT vs. site split test simultaneously.
FAQs
Does this affect my analytics or attribution? No. Visibility controls are purely display-side. All sessions, conversions, and attribution are tracked the same way regardless of which modules are shown.
Can I still run device-based routing? Yes — device routing via Forever Links is still available and works independently of module-level visibility controls.
What happens when a module is hidden? The module still lives in your funnel layout — it simply isn't rendered for the specified device type. In the editor, you'll see a placeholder so the module remains visible and editable.
Does this work with Pierre-generated funnels? Yes. You can add visibility controls to any module in a funnel, including funnels generated by Pierre.
Does this work with experiments? Yes. You can apply visibility controls to modules within experiment variants.
