How to Show "Subscription Only" Options on a Product Detail Page (PDP)

Sometimes you may want customers to subscribe to a product, and only subscribe, without offering a one-time purchase option. This guide shows you exactly how to set that up inside FERMÀT.

What is a Subscription-Only PDP?

A subscription-only PDP means a product can only be purchased as a subscription, not as a one-time item. Customers visiting the page will only see a subscription option at checkout.

When to Use a Subscription-Only PDP

Subscription-only setups are a great fit when:

  • The product is best used regularly (like supplements, coffee, skincare, or pet supplies).

  • You want to encourage long-term relationships and increase customer lifetime value (LTV).

  • You want to simplify the decision-making process for customers.

Offering subscriptions-only can help improve retention and reduce checkout friction.


How to Set It Up in FERMÀT

There are two ways you can remove the one-time purchase option:

Option 1: Remove OTP for the Entire Product

  1. Head to the Products page in your FERMÀT dashboard.

  2. Choose the product you want to update.

  3. On the right-hand panel click on Settings and go to the Purchase Options.

  4. In the Purchase Options tab, toggle off the “One Time Purchase” option.

Option 2: Remove OTP for Specific Variants Only

  1. In that same panel, switch to the Variants tab.

  2. Find the variant(s) where you only want to show subscriptions.

  3. Toggle off the “One Time Purchase” option just for those.
