The Shopify connection process has been significantly simplified.

Step 1: Initiate Connection

Step 2: Account Verification

  • Once redirected to Shopify, it's crucial to ensure you're connecting the correct store:

    • Verify that you're logged into the correct Shopify account

    • If you manage multiple Shopify stores, use the "Switch Stores" option to select the appropriate store

    • Confirm that the store name and details match the store you want to integrate with FERMÀT

Step 3: Authorize the Connection

After confirming you're in the correct account:

  • Click "Install" when prompted by Shopify

  • Review the permissions that FERMÀT will have access to

  • Confirm the installation to proceed

What Happens Next

Once you authorize the connection, Shopify will automatically redirect you back to FERMÀT. The integration process will begin immediately, and you'll be taken to the next step in the onboarding flow.

Sync Shopify data with FERMÀT

FERMÀT connects with your Shopify store through a secure data sync app(data connection that helps to fetch data) — called FERMÀT Data Sync.

This connection allows FERMÀT to safely access your store’s analytics data (like sales, orders, product performance, and inventory trends).

That data powers features such as:

  • AI search

  • Intelligent merchandising and personalized recommendations

  • Customer upsells, PDP, and bundle insights

  • Pierre’s analytics and performance dashboards

Permission required : Make sure you have admin access, as it’s required to authorize the Fermat connection.

Steps :

  1. You will have find this step while you’re onboarding once you sync your shopify store with us or alternatively post onboarding to find this step:

    1. Go to SettingsManage integrationsAd Platforms -> Ad Channels → Click on “Sync shopify data with Fermat

  2. Click on"Connect to Shopify". Make sure to sign in with the correct Shopify account which is linked to your brand’s store. Avoid using a personal Shopify account, as we’ll automatically fetch your store details based on the account you log in with.

3. You will be redirected to Shopify. Check your shop name displayed in the top-right corner — if it’s not the correct store, switch to the right one before proceeding. Then, install the “FERMÀT Data Sync” app by clicking Install App when prompted. This securely establishes a data connection between FERMÀT and your Shopify store, allowing Shopify to safely share your analytics data (orders, sales, etc.) with FERMÀT.

4. You will be redirected back to Fermat. Once installation is complete, you’ll see a message confirming that Shopify is connected. Click on “Sync” to start syncing data.

5. The status will change to “Setup Complete” (you’re good from your end). The sync will begin automatically in 5–6 minutes and may take up to 90 minutes to complete. Once finished, the status will update to “Connected.

Shopify Data Sync Statuses :

  • Not Connected → The Shopify store hasn’t been linked yet. Click “Connect to Shopify” to begin the setup.

  • Setup Complete → The connection is successfully authorized from your end. The sync will begin automatically within 5–6 minutes.

  • Connected → The sync has finished successfully. FERMÀT is now actively receiving your Shopify analytics data.

  • Disconnected → The sync failed or the connection token expired. You’ll need to reauthorize or repeat the setup steps to restore the connection.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

If you encounter any issues during the connection process:

  • Wrong Store Connected: If you accidentally connected the wrong Shopify store, contact FERMÀT support to reset the connection

  • Missing Products: Allow up to 30 minutes for initial synchronization to complete

  • Permission Errors: Ensure you have admin access to the Shopify store you're trying to connect
