In this article, you will learn how to connect your Shopify account with FERMÀT

Updated yesterday

FERMÀT has recently updated the Shopify connection process to comply with Shopify's latest integration requirements. The new onboarding experience provides a more streamlined, plug-and-play approach that eliminates the need to manually enter your Shopify store URL while maintaining the same powerful data synchronization capabilities.

What's in this guide:

Getting Started

When you sign up for FERMÀT and log in for the first time, you'll be prompted to select your e-commerce platform. To begin the Shopify integration process, simply click the Shopify button from the platform selection screen.

Setting up Your Brand

In the first step of the onboarding process, you'll be prompted to establish your brand presence within FERMÀT:

  1. Upload your brand logo: Choose a high-quality image that represents your brand

  2. Enter your brand name: Provide the official name of your business

  3. Add your website URL: Include your primary website address

  4. Press Confirm

This information helps FERMÀT customize your experience and ensures proper brand representation throughout the platform.

Connecting Your Shopify Account

The New Connection Process

The Shopify connection process has been significantly simplified. Instead of manually entering your Shopify store URL, you'll now connect directly through Shopify's secure authentication system.

Step 1: Initiate Connection

  • Click the "Connect Shopify Account" button. This will redirect you to Shopify's secure authentication page.

Step 2: Account Verification

  • Once redirected to Shopify, it's crucial to ensure you're connecting the correct store:

    • Verify that you're logged into the correct Shopify account

    • If you manage multiple Shopify stores, use the "Switch Stores" option to select the appropriate store

    • Confirm that the store name and details match the store you want to integrate with FERMÀT

Step 3: Authorize the Connection

After confirming you're in the correct account:

  • Click "Install" when prompted by Shopify

  • Review the permissions that FERMÀT will have access to

  • Confirm the installation to proceed

What Happens Next

Once you authorize the connection, Shopify will automatically redirect you back to FERMÀT. The integration process will begin immediately, and you'll be taken to the next step in the onboarding flow.

Data Synchronization with Fivetran

FERMÀT uses Fivetran to ensure secure and reliable data synchronization between your Shopify store and the FERMÀT platform. This integration provides:

  • Real-time product synchronization: Your product catalog stays up-to-date automatically

  • Order data integration: Track and analyze your sales performance

  • Customer information sync: Maintain consistent customer data across platforms

  • Inventory management: Monitor stock levels and product availability

The Fivetran integration is established automatically during the Shopify connection process, requiring no additional configuration on your part.

Completing the Integration

After the initial connection is established, FERMÀT will begin synchronizing your store data. This process typically takes a few minutes, depending on the size of your product catalog and order history.

Verification Steps

Once the integration is complete:

  1. Product Sync Confirmation: Navigate to the Products page in FERMÀT to verify that your products have been successfully imported

  2. Data Accuracy Check: Review a few sample products to ensure pricing, descriptions, and inventory levels are accurate

  3. Integration Status: Check your integration status in the FERMÀT dashboard to confirm the connection is active

Troubleshooting Common Issues

If you encounter any issues during the connection process:

  • Wrong Store Connected: If you accidentally connected the wrong Shopify store, contact FERMÀT support to reset the connection

  • Missing Products: Allow up to 30 minutes for initial synchronization to complete

  • Permission Errors: Ensure you have admin access to the Shopify store you're trying to connect
