Adding Email/SMS Capture

Here's how to collect customer contact information through Klayviyo, Postscript, or Recart.

Updated over a week ago

Using Klaviyo, Postscript, or Recart to capture customer contact information is a great consolation prize to someone purchasing in-session. It gives you the ability to market to them again later.

You can connect those email/SMS capture points to your FERMÀT funnels.

Adding an Email/SMS Capture Point to a Funnel

You can add a contact capture point to your funnels using one of our available integrations (Klaviyo, Postscript, Recart).

First, navigate to the funnel you would like to add the capture point to. You will add this in the settings of that particular funnel.

Once you are in the funnel you want to add the capture to, navigate to the settings section.

From here, select the integration you want to add and follow the onscreen prompts.

Use a Forever Link to see if the popup is firing correctly. Sometimes the popup won't display on the preview link.

The look of your email and sms collection popups will be edited and managed within that specific platform. Once you have created the capture, just follow the prompts within FERMÀT to add it to a specific funnel.

Email/SMS Capture Best Practices

FERMÀT is designed to capture conversions in session. If an email or SMS capture triggers too soon or covers important information it can do more harm than good.

Here are a few things to consider to make sure that these popups don't get in the way of the core FERMÀT Experience.

1. Ensure that the popup does not cover critical information on land

Test to make sure the popup does not cover any critical information when a customer lands within the funnel.

In the example above the popup covers the add to bag button of this funnel.

🔥 Pro tip: Some popups have different behavior once you dismiss them initially. Be sure to test what happens when you close, or exit out of the initial offering.

2. Consider adding a scroll delay

FERMÀT gives you tons of customization options to build the right experience for each click. Your funnels are designed to help each ad convert.

An additional discount for contact information could get in the way of an active conversion or add an additional discount for a customer who was already going to buy.

Consider adding a 50% scroll delay so customers who are highly motivated to buy don't get distracted.

3. Test the mobile experience

More than 90% of sessions in a FERMÀT funnel happen on a mobile device. While you are testing make sure you are checking the behavior on mobile specifically.
