Connect your brand's Slack workspace to FERMÀT and choose the channel where Slack-enabled notifications should be delivered.
The Slack connection is configured for the active FERMÀT brand. Everyone working in that brand shares the same connected workspace and notification channel.
Before You Start
Make sure that:
You are signed in to the Slack workspace you want to connect.
You have permission to authorize apps in that Slack workspace. If your workspace requires app approval, ask a Slack administrator to approve the connection.
Your browser allows pop-up windows from
app.fermatcommerce.com.
Connect Slack
Step 1: Open Notifications Settings
In FERMÀT, open Settings → Notifications. Find the Slack card and select Connect to Slack.
Step 2: Authorize FERMÀT in Slack
A Slack authorization page opens in a new tab. Select the correct workspace, review the permissions requested by the Fermàt Beacon app, and select Allow.
If Slack displays an approval request instead of the Allow button, ask a workspace administrator to approve the app before continuing.
Step 3: Return to FERMÀT
When Slack confirms that the workspace is connected, close the confirmation tab and return to the original FERMÀT tab.
Step 4: Choose a Notification Channel
The Slack card now shows the connected workspace. Open Select a channel, search for the channel you want, and select it. FERMÀT saves the selection automatically.
Step 5: Confirm the Connection
The Slack card displays both the connected workspace and selected channel. Slack-enabled notifications for this brand will now be delivered to that channel.
Manage the Connection
Change the channel: Open the channel selector and choose another channel. The new selection is saved automatically and future Slack notifications will be sent there.
Connect a different workspace: Select Disconnect, then repeat the connection steps and authorize the intended workspace.
Stop Slack notifications: Select Disconnect. You can reconnect Slack at any time.
Troubleshooting
The Slack authorization tab does not open:
Your browser may be blocking pop-ups. Allow pop-ups from app.fermatcommerce.com, then select Connect to Slack again.
Slack asks for administrator approval:
Your workspace controls who can install or authorize apps. Ask a Slack administrator to approve Fermàt Beacon, then restart the connection flow if necessary.
FERMÀT still shows Slack as disconnected:
Return to the original FERMÀT tab after completing Slack authorization. FERMÀT checks the connection when the tab regains focus. If the status does not update, refresh the page.
A channel does not appear in the selector:
The selector shows active channels available to the connected app. Confirm that the channel is not archived and that Fermàt Beacon can access it. For a private channel, invite the app to the channel, then refresh Notifications settings.
The workspace is connected, but no Slack notifications arrive:
Connecting the workspace is only the first step. Return to Settings → Notifications and confirm that a destination channel is selected.
The wrong workspace was connected:
Select Disconnect, select Connect to Slack again, and choose the correct workspace on the Slack authorization page.
